charge of N-modified peptides

charge of N-modified peptides

All peptide identifications, done with Mascot, from ESI-MS/MS data generated at VIB in Ghent are stored in a relational database.

Looking at the charges these identified peptides had in the mass spectrometer, you can conclude that most came out from electrospray ionization doubly charged. A distinction is made between N-terminal modified and peptides starting with NH2- (blue and red).

Plot generated with the great R package ggplot2.
